Why Pray To The Virgin Mary?

The intercession of Mother Mary is very powerful as Jesus cannot neglect his Mother's commands and wishes. This can be proved by the first miracle at the wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11). Mother Mary told Jesus, "They have no more wine." Jesus turned water to wine. Mother Mary was blessed abundantly with Holy Spirit. Devotion to the Blessed Virgin is a privileged means of "finding Jesus Christ perfectly, of loving Him tenderly, of serving Him faithfully (Treatise on True Devotion, n. 62).

The relative importance of The Blessed Virgin Mary to Christ and through Him, to the Blessed Trinity, is first experienced in the observation: "You never think of Mary without Mary interceding for you with God. You never praise or honor Mary without Mary's praising and honoring God with you. Mary is altogether relative to God; and indeed, I might well call Her the relation to God. She only exists with reference to God. She is the echo of God that says nothing, repeats nothing, but God. If you say 'Mary', She says "God'. St. Elizabeth praised Mary and called Her blessed because She had believed. Mary, the faithful echo of God, at once intoned: "Magnificat anima mea Dominum"; "My soul magnifies the Lord." (Luke 1:46). What Mary did then, She does daily now. When we praise Her, love Her, honour Her or give anything to Her, it is God who is praised, God who is loved, God who is glorified, and it is God that we give, through Mary and in Mary" (cf. Treatise on True Devotion, n 225).

Jesus Hands Over His Mother to us

When Jesus was on the cross, he asked his disciple to take Mary as his mother and for His mother to accept His disciple as her son (John 19: 25-27). This request from Jesus conveys two messages. Jesus wants us, his friends to take His mother as "Our Mother". He showed us, how much he cared for his mother because he did not want to leave her by herself. Jesus loves His mother. She brought Jesus to the world. She bore the pain watching her son being scourged and crucified. Why, then, shouldn't we honour His loving Mother? We can be assured that The Virgin Mary is always praying for us. We should feel blessed to have Her, Mary Mother of Jesus intercede on behalf of us.

The "Immaculate Heart Of Mary" is a Catholic doctrine that stresses the "perfections which God gave to Mary, The Blessed Virgin, and her holiness which is unique among men..."

"By the will of God, The Most Blessed Virgin Mary was inseperably joined with Christ in accomplishing the work of man's redemption so that our salvation flows from the love of Jesus Christ and His sufferings, intimately united with the love and sorrows of His Mother".

The Most Holy Rosary

"The most important aspect of the figure of Mary is Her intimate union with Jesus as mother. Jesus' humanity is entirely from Mary. She gave Her son Her mother's heart, surrounding Him with love, care and respect. Mary brought Jesus up by Her work, Her motherly devotion and Her commitment to protect Him. She educated Him with Her life, which was poor and serene, industrious and simple, chaste and full of maternal love. She brought Him up by her trust in the Father and Her willingness to help the needy" (cf Jesus Christ, Word of God, p. 147).

The most special way to grow in love to our Blessed Mother is by praying the Most Holy Rosary - a most powerful weapon against evil.

The Rosary is a beautiful prayer that we should never abandon or underestimate. With its meditations on faith, while a great prayer, is also a powerful teaching tool. The Rosary is a true dialogue that we can have with Mary, our heavenly mother. In the Rosary, we speak to Mary and ask Her intercession on our behalf before her son, Jesus.

The Hail Mary - The Value of the Rosary.

Father Gabriel Amorth, chief exorcist of the Vatican writes:

One day a colleague of mine heard the devil say during an exorcism: "Every Hail Mary is like a blow on my head. If Christians knew how powerful the Rosary was, it would be my end." The secret that makes this prayer so effective is that the Rosary is both prayer and meditation. It is addressed to the Father, to the Blessed Virgin, and to the Holy Trinity, and is a meditation centered on Christ. I write in addition to the above: Please enunciate each word of the Rosary clearly and distinctly. Do not trample on the heels' of the words of anyone with your words. Do not speak over the leader, if you are following, or the responders if you are leading the Rosary. Remember that they also are having a conversation with Mary Our Mother and it is not polite to speak when someone else is speaking.

In the case of the public Rosary there are only two people speaking, the Leader and the Responders. Each are speaking to their Mother and listening carefully to her response within their hearts as they meditate on the scene before them in their consideration of the mystery being spoken of and interpreted and translated into their lives. Spread this powerful prayer of exorcism, The Rosary which contains the Our Father, the Perfect Prayer, prayed five times in the recitation of each set of the Rosary's Mysteries, backed up by the powerful prayers of Our Mother who prays with us as we pray 53 Hail Marys. The Eternal Father described to a group of us, through a Visionary Friend of mine, what happens when we pray the Rosary, saying, "When you pray Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now....., the Blessed Mother comes instantly to your side to pray with you. And she does not come alone. She brings angels with her. And not just one or two for she is the Queen of Angels, so choirs of angels come with her. And she and Jesus are joined at the heart and cannot be separated so shebrings Jesus with her. And Jesus cannot be separated from the Trinity so He brings the Father and the Holy Spirit with Him.

And where the Holy Trinity is all of creation is and you are surrounded by such beauty and light as you cannot imagine in this life. Your Mother comes as Our Lady of Grace with her hands out-stretched. Rays of light emit from her hands piercing your body, healing you and filling you with graces.
This is your inheritance which was poured out from the heart of Jesus on the Cross, when the centurion pierced His Heart with the spear, into the only pure vessel ready to receive such graces at that time,Your Mother.

Now as you pray the Rosary, or even just recite one Hail Mary, you receive your portion of these graces."He also said at this time, "Anyone who goes to Mary and prays the Rosary cannot be touched by Satan." Is it any wonder that anyone who prays the Rosary from the heart is so blessed and protected and powerful in their prayers for others?"
